We respect your right to privacy. This privacy policy seeks to provide you, as a user of this website, with information on the manner, extent, and purpose for collecting, using and processing of personal information (e.g. name, address, email address, telephone number, user behavior or IP address).

The data protection for this website is fully GDPR (EU General Data Protection Regulation) compliant.

We are committed to ensuring that data protection regulations are respected both by us and by any external service providers we use.

However, please be aware that data transfer via the internet is subject to security risks and, therefore, complete protection against third-party access to transferred data cannot be ensured.

Server log files

For technical reasons, your internet browser automatically transmits information to the server of our website providet. This information is stored in so-called log files, which collect the following information:

Provider and Server Location

We operate this website with a hosting service provider with whom we have a GDPR compliant data processing contract. This stipulates the following:

  • website and user personal data will only be stored and processed within the EU.
  • all data will be stored and processed in accordance with the provisions of the GDPR.
  • In accordance with the state of the art, technicians and personnel must take preventive measures to prevent data loss.

The server of this website is located in Germany.

Audience measurement

Our website uses analysis software for statistical evaluation and measurement of website visits and their range. We evaluate this information to optimize our website and its content.

Piwik/Matomo

Our website uses the open source software Piwik / Matomo. The following data is processed: version and type of browser you use; the operating system you use; language and country settings; date and time of the calls; the number and duration of visits; and links followed on the website. The IP address of the users is made anonymous before being saved.

The data stored by the Piwik / Matomo software is stored locally on our webserver and will not be transferred to other servers or passed on to third parties.

You can disable anonymous data collection by Piwik / Matomo at any time. Click on the link below. Through a so-called opt-out cookie Piwik / Matomo recognizes that no more session data should be collected. If you delete your cookies and, thus, the opt-out cookie, you enable data to be collected again.

These data are automatically deleted at regular intervals. The storage period is: 24 months

YouTube Videos

YouTube videos are embedded on our website that are stored on the Google Server in the USA (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043).

Google is certified with the Privacy Shield agreement and guarantees to uphold European rights on data protection (https://www.privacyshield.gov/participant?id=a2zt000000001L5AAI&status=Active).

Newsletter subscription, mailing and cancellation

Subscription

The data you enter on the registration form when subscribing the newsletter (email address, name) will be transmitted to us. We store this data solely for the purpose of sending the newsletter and will not pass this data on to a third party or person.

Double Opt-In

When you register we will reply with a mail asking for confirmation of registration (double opt-in).

Should you wish to change the information you have provided us after the fact, then please click on a link for this purpose at the bottom of every newsletter.

Mailing

We send out the IPPNW European Newsletter max. 6 times a year. In the newsletter we provide information on events and activities of IPPNW affiliates in Europe.

In some cases, newsletter subscribers will be referred to the web page news.ippnw.de, for instance if they click on the link to view the newsletter online. In this way, possible problems caused by email programs in the way they display the newsletter can be overcome.

Cancellation

You can cancel your subscription at any time by revoking your consent. There is a link for this purpose at the bottom of every newsletter.

Your rights as a user

You have the right pursuant to Art. 7 GDPR to revoke your consent to the storage and processing of your personal data with future effect.

Information

As a user, you have the right under Art. 15 GDPR to receive, upon request, free of charge information about personal data stored about you.

Furthermore, as a user, you have the right under Art. 16 GDPR to complete or correct any incorrect data that has been stored about you.
